BIO

MotorFlower was founded by friends Stephen Hall, (Drums/songwriter), and guitarist Adam Schroeder in Boise, Idaho spring of 2000. Schroeder came up with the name MotorFlower which reflects the band’s dynamic heavy and soft sound. MotorFlower was originally a writing project that quickly evolved into a live outfit. Over time, the band played venues such as the Whisky-A-Go Go and the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, California and the Knitting Factory in Boise, Idaho. Over the years, members came and went as the band was a vehicle among friends that showcased their writing and playing skills. Hall has been a constant throughout the history of the band to this day. Currently, Hall is not only the band’s drummer, but the primary songwriter. With a mountain of influences the band weaves in and around Rock, Punk, and Alternative genres. Also, Hall is just enough of a guitar player to write melodic, hooky, riff heavy songs. Lyrically, the songs are about real life characters and experiences Hall has had throughout his musical career. MotorFlower’s sound was once described as “A Starling with Led Zeppelin hiccups”. In the spring of 2022, tragedy paid Hall an unexpected visit when he lost his right leg, (below the knee) in a motorcycle accident. As a right handed drummer, it proved challenging to play but eventually doable through the nearly 2 year recovery process.
